JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Behavior Technician (BT) implements ABA programs written by the BCBA in home and in the clinic. BT’s are responsible for applying ABA principles as directed by a supervisor in order to assist families achieve their individual goals.

​

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA):Behavior analysis focuses on the principles that explain how learning takes place. Positive reinforcement is one such principle. When a behavior is followed by some sort of reward, the behavior is more likely to be repeated. Through decades of research, the field of behavior analysis has developed many techniques for increasing useful behaviors and reducing those that may cause harm or interfere with learning.

ORGANIZATION:

Re Therapy Services is a new, multi-disciplinary Autism Clinic servicing the south end of Utah Valley. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality home and clinic care for the children we serve as well as superior levels of customer service for their families. RTS' founders are committed to providing evidence-based services with compassion, knowledge, and collaborative effort.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work 1:1 (in-home), or in small groups (in-clinic) with children diagnosed with Autism

  • Complete required coursework and pass national exam within 180 days to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

  • Follow individually written programs to administer ABA therapy

  • Be supervised by a BCBA

  • Take data according to individualized goals and programs

  • Collaborate with other BT’s, BCBA’s, OT’s, and SLP’s

  • Travel to clients’ homes

  • Proficient general technology skills

  • On the job training will be performed under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to receive necessary certification.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Attend supervisory meetings as often as indicated by supervisor

  • Report directly to the BCBA on all client progress and any concerns for clients

  • Participate in occasional outings with families (zoo, Lagoon, hikes, library, haircuts, grocery shopping, etc)

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to learn quickly

  • Creative and organized

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong work ethic

  • Team player

 

HOURS: Part-time

  • Flexible schedule

  • No Saturdays . 

  • Morning availability is a must.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:

  • Ability to complete coursework and become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

​

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, turning, twisting, standing for extended periods, moving quickly, reaching, ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

​

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Hold a minimum of High School diploma, AA/AS or BA/BS Degree in a related field preferred (Psychology, Child Development, communication disorders, etc.).

  • 1-2 years direct ABA experience preferred

  • Negative TB test and current immunization for MMR, Tdap, Varicella and Hep B.

  • Valid Driver’s License, auto insurance, clean driving record, and reliable means of transportation

  • Flexible schedule.
